Electronic Glue Control

Specifically designed to control the continuity and the regularity of cold glues deposited by the rotating disc of the lower glue pot of folder-gluer machines on straight line compact cartons. Capable to detect a 10 mm glue defect at machine belt speed in excess of 450 metres/minute.
Unless connected to an EDI + Ejector or Kicker, the detected glue defect will activate the immediate machine stop.

PERFORMANCES

Glue sensor A high resolution 12 mm diametre capacitive sensor.

Type of cartons Straight line compact cartons only (200/800 gr/m2).

Type of glue Cold glues (vinyls) deposited by lower glue pot disc or lower glue gun.

Sensor positioning Sensor installed at approx. 0,5 mm from surface of carton and on opposite side to where glue is deposited (carton's glue flap in between glue and sensor).

Error conditions The error condition is set off whenever a glue defect of at least 10 mm. is detected.
By glue defect is meant:
  • A reduction in glue mass superior to the set tollerance;
  • A gap of missing glue.
Machine stop Selectable, by back panel switch, at either 1st error or at attaiment of 3 consecutive errors.

Ejection memory The equipment is provided with a memory card capable to handle an ejection distance (sensor-ejector) up to 9,99 metres settable through the front panel shift selector. When this equipment is not connected to a bar code reader, it will require an Error Drive Interface + Ejector or Kicker for the necessary monitoring of wrongly glued cartons to ejection or marking.
