MMS-GD
MMS-GD
Modular Multi Sensor Glue Detector.
It may houses up to 4 modules

Supple and precise. Run by microprocessor. It will effectively control the straight glue line on lateral glue flaps as well as the correct length and positioning of glue lines, deposited from above, by upper glue guns for cartons such as double wall, 4/6 corners, crush lock, etc.

PERFORMANCES

Glue sensors High resolution 12 mm diametre capacitive sensors.

Type of cartons Boxes such as straight line and crush lock, in compact carton or PVC, only.
Boxes such as double wall and 4/6 corners also in micro flute or corrugated

Control modules Possible configuration: up to 4 control modules. Usually, module 1 is of type "A". Modules 2, 3, 4 are of type "B".
Module A. To control the regularity and continuity of glue deposited on glue flaps of boxes in compact carton (or PVC) by the disc of a lower glue pot or straight from a lower glue gun. The condition of error is set off for:
  • glue resulting in defect or in excess (irregular deposit);
  • partial interruption or total absence of glue (lack of continuity).
Modules B. To control the correct length and position of glue lines applied, from above, by upper glue guns on any kind of boxes (also in microflute or corrugated).
The condition of error is set off for:
  • a length resulting longer than required.
  • a length resulting shorter than required.
  • wrong positioning even of a correct length.
Tolerance: 2mm, increasable by programme.

Operating speed Module A: up to 600 metres/minute (belts speed)
Module B: up to 450 metres/minute (belts speed)

Cartons synchronism Module A: supplied by the sensor's analogical signal.
Module B: supplied by a specific optical fibre which, at a fixed length, preceeds the capacitive sensor in its bracket.

Glue data acquisition By show and go as following:
2 procedures when using module A:
  • acquisition of carton threshold (carton without glue)
  • acquisition of glue deposited (carton + glue)
1 procedure for each module B used:
  • acquisition of glue length and its positioning
Machine stop Each module to be programmed for machine stop at first error unless the equipment is installed together with an E.D.I. + Ejector or Kicker in which case it can be programmed to stop the machine at the attainement of a programmable number of consecutive errors .

Ejection memory Each glue control module (A and B) is provided with an own shift register programmable up to 16.380 mm. (over 16 metres).
However, the use of the ejection memory is only possible when the MMS-GD is connected to an E.D.I. + Ejector or Kicker.

Ejection signalling The equipment is provided with a relay output connector allowing the visual signalling, through a lamp (optional) of the detection of wrongly glued cartons.
